Superior customer service supports premium brands and builds customer loyalty
I recently noticed some hardware was missing on one of the drawers in a piece of funiture in the house. The furniture was built by a Canadian company in Oshawa, Ontario called College Woodwork. Of course the quality is excellent and I learned that their customer service is as well. I sent them an e-mail asking if I could get a replacement part. read more »
Zellers versus Walmart
I learned recently that our local Zellers department store is closing at some point in the not too distant future. Zellers is a Canadian company, owned by the Hudson's Bay company. A while back, HBC sold Zellers to US retail giant Target. So, the question locally became, "Will our local Zellers become a Target?". Apparently not. read more »

Like it or not, the retailers are in full Christmas swing. Walk through any mall or in any major store and you'll see all sorts of stuff to buy. As you plan your holiday season purchases, consider this. Where is the stuff you are buying made? If it isn't Canada, you are supporting jobs elsewhere.
